Chapter 17
1 Elijah the Tishbite, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there will be no dew or rain these years, except according to my word.” 2 The word of the LORD came to him, saying, 3 Go from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the Brook Cherith, which faces the Jordan. 4 You will drink from the stream, and I have commanded the ravens to sustain you there. 5 So he went and did according to the word of the LORD, and he went and dwelt by the Wadi Kerith, which faces the Jordan. 6 The ravens brought him bread of the Presence and flesh in the morning, and bread of the Presence and flesh in the evening, and he drank from the stream.
